IBF middleweight world champion Gennadiy Golovkin will face WBA middleweight world champion Ryota Murata in a middleweight title unification bout at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Murata has the lofty expectation of unifying two world titles in front of his country on Saturday. Murata will make his third title defense since he reclaimed the WBA middleweight world title in July 2019. He originally won the middleweight title in October 2017 with a seventh-round retirement against Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam. That was a rematch of their May 2017 bout, which Murata lost via split decision.

Murata (16-2, 13 KOs) only has two losses in his career to N’Jikam and Rob Brant. Murata avenged both losses in immediate rematches.
