Mission

TESOL is the acronym for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Contextually informed by the Christian Worldview, the TESOL Certificate program is for inexperienced or unqualified teachers, professionals, or those in Christian service with the aim to teach English Language Learners. The certificate’s curriculum is designed to provide the basic competencies and knowledge necessary in the TESOL field. With a focus on the development of practical classroom skills and effective teaching techniques, there is also a foundation in second-language acquisition theory and the general structure of the English language. Each class covers concepts, methods, techniques, materials, and resources directly applicable to the classroom.

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required for admission to the TESOL program. A TOEFL score of 580 (paper test) is required.
