Haven's TESOL Certificate Program is a 5 Course Certificate Program. As a part of Haven's School for Professional Studies, this Certificate Program is designed for those wishing to become qualified in the Teaching of English to Students of Other Languages. It is a common term used when describing a range of situations where non-native speakers are taught English, whether at home or abroad.

TESOL is the acronym for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Contextually informed by the Christian Worldview, the TESOL Certificate program is for inexperienced or unqualified teachers, professionals, or those in Christian service with the aim to teach English Language Learners. The certificate’s curriculum is designed to provide the basic competencies and knowledge necessary in the TESOL field. With a focus on the development of practical classroom skills and effective teaching techniques, there is also a foundation in second-language acquisition theory and the general structure of the English language. Each class covers concepts, methods, techniques, materials, and resources directly applicable to the classroom.

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required for admission to the TESOL program. A TOEFL score of 580 (paper test) is required. (Students with a bachelor’s degree in English or other bachelor’s degrees from English-speaking countries do not have to take TOEFL Test.)
